NOTE: We are having a dispersal
sale on August 30th, 2009 and the catalogue of the horses available
for the sale can be viewed at www.mcinenly.com
Due to the recent down turn in the economy and circumstances
beyond my control, The Mitchell Centre for Equine Rescue and Education
is closing down operations.
This doesn't mean I'm quitting rescue all together. Currently a
new website is being developed and I will be continuing to address
the issues surrounding slaughter. Still separating fact from fiction
and still "speaking out" on the side of the horse and
NOT supporting pro or anti slaughter groups. Over the last 10 years
that I have been rescuing horses from slaughter, it has become clear
that these opposing groups, pro and anti slaughter, do not have
the horses best interests at stake. Both groups are motivated only
by their own political agendas and the pursuit of money to further
their own misguided causes.
Slaughter is a cancer of the Horse Industry and like cancer in humans
it can be beaten. What is needed is a "highly regulated and
fully licensed" true Horse Industry that actually does have
the horses best interest at heart. It is to this goal that I'm going
to devote my future efforts.
I would like to thank all who have supported The Centre in the past
and I look forward to your support in the "good fight"
yet to come.
P.T. Mitchell
