| Cheryl Hill, Director for the Mitchell Centre |
I have had the absolute joy of being a director for the
Mitchell Centre since April 2000. I have been married for 25 years
and have a son 20 and a daughter 17. I was bitten by the "horse-bug" at
a very early age and have spent my life learning about and being with
these magnificent creatures. I work part time at a local Credit Union,
which allows me to spend time daily following my biggest passion in life...horses.
I rescued my own Arab gelding from going to the plant seven years ago,
which is why I feel so passionate about the job we are doing at The Centre.
I have put Dakota through everything from herding cows to dressage training,
parades to horse shows - I've never been sorry that our paths crossed!
These animals never cease to fascinate me and I truly enjoy being a "voice"
for these animals.
In the past, the Mitchell's, have helped to prevent the needless
slaughter of numerous track and chuckwagon horses, PMU yearlings, weanlings
and standard bred horses.
